Protecting information is vitally important to the NIHR HIC.
At every step of the data journey, the confidentiality of the patient is carefully protected and safeguarded.
The NIHR HIC collects, processes, and shares data in accordance with relevant legislation, including the Data Protection Act 1998.
The NIHR HIC is keen for patients and the public to be actively involved in our work as key partners in the research.
We want people to take an active role in helping us design and carry out our research.
We believe this kind of active input makes our research better. Patient and public involvement in research can lead to research outcomes that better meet the needs of patients.
We invite patients and the public to:
Look at research from a patient perspective and suggest practical solutions to problems
Help improve patient information leaflets and letters so they are clearly understood
Help us with recruitment of patients for research studies
Help us with patient focussed discussions about their experiences
Advise us about the best ways to tell people about our research findings and its benefits.
If you are interested in getting involved, then please:
