NIHR HIC Viral Hepatitis and Liver Disease Theme wins top prize at European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) Congress 2024

We are pleased to announce that the NIHR HIC Viral Hepatitis and Liver Disease Theme won a top poster prize at European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) Congress 2024. This study employs machine learning algorithms to enhance the prediction of hepatitis B surface antigen seroclearance using patients’ baseline data at presentation. Big data analytics and machine learning utilising large datasets from electronic health records can be promising to identify individuals with the highest likelihood of HBsAg loss, which is relevant to determining immune-mediated clearance and functional cure with new therapeutic agents. The poster is publicly accessible via Figshare
